- Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) is a domain name that can contain any character other than an English alphabet (Latin alphabet) in the ASCII code A-Z, Arabic numerals 0-9, and hyphen (-). Domain name registration was originally restricted to ASCII characters only due to technical limitations of the system.
